More filler writing posting with another drabble from January 15-21 for Aywas.
The task was to write about what an NPC's CDs held in them (250 word minimum).
NOTE: None of the content of stories for Aywas belong to me.
[Disclosed Disc]
Spenser snickered as he shook the Blue CD in his hand. Safely at his trash dump, he sat behind quite a large pile of assorted, decomposing food and stared at the disc inside of the cover. "What juicy material does Tak have on this disc?" he wondered aloud.
His yellow eyes stared moments longer at the disc until a faint memory came across his mind. Setting the CD down on the ground, Spenser floated among his expanse trash heap, eyes narrowed to focus on the smaller details. An object caught his eye and, zipping through the air, was soon in his hand. He tapped the object against his opposite palm with a grin larger than before.
Reunited with the Tak's Blue CD, Spenser slipped the disc into the old CD player dumped months before. He shoved the labeled ear buds into the corresponding ears and pressed the play button.
Silence met Spenser's ears.
His face scrunched, staring at the top of the player. Numbers moved on the display screen, but there was absolutely nothing. He picked the object up and eyed the entire surface. "What the--?"
The volume was down to zero. Spenser shook his head and restarted the song, this time, with the volume up to clarity.
And he began to laugh.
The next morning, Tak walked towards Ay Town, specifically towards his shop, Draconic Creations. Nearing the middle of the town, he heard a familiar tune stroke his ears. Not too far from him, he saw the other gods standing, laughing, around a proudly smiling Spenser holding up a boombox.
Accordions mixed with bagpipes and cuatros sounded loudly across the town, the folk music bringing tears of unexplainable amusement to everyone's eyes. Spenser pointed away from the crowd and directly at the immobile Tak glaring at the ghost with burning cheeks. "This wonderful bagpipe music is courteously provided by Tak the Time God!"
